Thad Taylor graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law in 1994, and served almost 15 years for the State of Missouri, including eight years for the Department of Social Services as an Administrative Hearing Officer and Managing Attorney. Thad's main responsibility for the Department of Social Services was reviewing administrative appeals to determine whether individuals met the eligibility requirements for Medicaid assistance. During that time, Thad reviewed many elder law attorneys' strategies to gain their clients Medicaid eligibility for the nursing home, and decided whether each strategy complied with federal and state laws. In 2009, Thad left his employment with the State of Missouri with the goal of sharing his knowledge and expertise with the residents of the state who are faced with the emotionally and financially difficult decisions accompanied with long-term care. Thad is known throughout the State as an expert in Medicaid Law. Thad is a member of the Missouri Bar Association's Elder Law Committee and Administrative Law Committee, and wrote the chapter for the Missouri Bar Association's Administrative Law Deskbook Series entitled Administrative Hearings Before the Department of Mental Health. Thad has been sought after as a speaker at a number of lectures and seminars. Thad is licensed to practice in every county in the State of Missouri. Thad is a member of the Missouri Bar Association and the Boone County Bar Association. Thad lives in Columbia, Missouri, with his lovely and talented wife, Jodi, and two wonderful daughters, Olivia and Sophia.
